Crimpmas 2015 was a great succes - thanks to everyone who contributed
The opening set from our friends The Limitations, was the usual polished mix of numbers. Zena, Sarah and Sue were on great form ably supported by the rest of the boys. The interval welcomed Tom Lucas with a thoughtful acoustic set - a mix of original songs and covers.
The Crimps took to the stage for the second half, aided and abetted by the newly-formed Pavy brass section for a couple of numbers. 'Stuck in the middle' saw Rob Law guesting - with a unique interpretation of the lyrics and the order in which they should be sung. Ending on a medley of Crimped-Christmas numbers, it rounded off a great night, which saw a full dance floor, and full collecting tins.
So thanks to everyone who contributed - especially the performers. Special thanks to Penny Costley-White from TSIBA, Tom Kearns for his pop-up BBQ, Katy Cooke for fastidious book-keeping and door-security, Dave 'Tweet' King and all the helpers who tidied and cleaned the hall after the event. At this time we think we cleared about £600, to be shared between the two charities. We're pretty delighted.
2015/2016 we're trying to help Rosie's Rainbow Fund who are Supporting Sick and Disabled Children in Hospital, School and the Community with music therapy, and TSIBA, a private not for profit business school in South Africa which offers scholarships to disadvantaged young people. We'll keep you posted on progress.
Watch this space - who knows, we may do it again next year....
